Assistive Technology Access Network
Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network is a 501(c)(3) statewide nonprofit organization that connects individuals with disabilities and older persons to the Assistive Technology that enables independence in employment, school, and community living.
Assistive Technology Financial Loans
Assistive Technology Financial Loans are an opportunity to take advantage of an affordable alternative in assistive technology financing. Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network, in partnership with Regions Bank, is making reduced-interest, extended-term loans available to qualified borrowers to purchase the vital assistive technology that can improve their independence and productivity.
Device Demonstrations
Assistive Technology device demonstrations provide an opportunity for individuals to become familiar with various types of devices and to try devices before purchasing them.
Device Loan Program
The Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network is pleased to offer Louisianans with disabilities the opportunity to borrow a variety of Assistive Technology equipment and devices for temporary use prior to making a purchase, while a device is being repaired, while waiting for new equipment to be delivered, or as a short-term accommodation.
Enterprise Zone Program
The Enterprise Zone Program, is a jobs incentive program that provides Louisiana income and franchise tax credits to a new or existing business located in Louisiana creating permanent net new full-time jobs, and hiring at least 35% of those net new jobs from one of four targeted groups.
This program requires the employer hire from one of four target groups. These target groups are: Enterprise Zone Residents, Public Assistance Recipients, People lacking basic reading, writing and math skills and People unemployable by traditional standards. An employer could hire a person with a disability from any of these groups.
Fastlane
FastLane is the system that manages Louisiana’s business incentive programs that are approved by the Board of Commerce and Industry. The FastLane website is a secure online interface that allows users to electronically send data directly to Louisiana Economic Development's internal FastLane database. It is designed for individual users managing one company or consultants who manage multiple companies’ data.
Good Work Network
Good Work Network is the primary provider of business development services for the small community-based businesses that support families and sustain communities. Good Work Network educates, coaches and supports these smaller businesses to help them improve their skills, realize their full potential and become active participants in the local economy. Through its programs and services, Good Work Network works to expand the local economy by building minority and women owned businesses. It envisions a community where the economy is diverse and inclusive and where all dedicated and competent entrepreneurs have access to the resources they need to succeed.
Someone with a disability who wants to start a business can benefit from this organization’s many services.
Incentive Evaluator
The Incentive Evaluator is an interactive tool that allows businesses to quickly and efficiently discover which Louisiana incentives their business may be eligible for and the potential tax benefit from those incentives.
Louisiana Association of Business and Industry
The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry consolidates your interests along with more of the most influential business leaders in the state to provide ONE voice on behalf of business in Louisiana.
Louisiana Economic Development
Louisiana Economic Development is responsible for strengthening the state's business environment and creating a more vibrant Louisiana economy.
Louisiana Economic Development carries out these responsibilities by increasing the state's economic competitiveness, cultivating Louisiana's top regional economic development assets, enhancing the competitiveness of local communities, helping retain and expand existing businesses, developing national-caliber business recruitment capabilities, telling the story of Louisiana's economic renaissance and cultivating small business and entrepreneurship.
Louisiana FastStart
Louisiana FastStart is a single-source, world-class, workforce solutions provider that works with businesses to anticipate and address the company's workforce needs early in the startup or expansion process. Louisiana FastStart's services are provided at no cost through Louisiana Economic Development.
Workers with disabilities can be part of the workforce recruited and trained by this program.
Louisiana Rehabilitation Services
Vocational Rehabilitation, Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) assists persons with disabilities in their desire to obtain or maintain employment and/or achieve independence in their communities by providing rehabilitation services and working cooperatively with business and other community resources.

Louisiana's Veteran Initiative Program
The Louisiana Veterans Initiative is a goal-oriented program which encourages state agencies to contract with certified veteran-owned and service-connected disabled veteran-owned small entrepreneurships as well as encouraging contractors who receive contracts from the State to use good faith efforts to utilize certified Louisiana's Veteran Initiative's in the performance of the contract.
Quality Jobs
The Quality Jobs program provides a cash rebate to companies that create well-paying jobs and promote economic development.
Some of these well-paying jobs can go to employees with disabilities who qualify for them.
Restoration Tax Abatement
The Restoration Tax Abatement program provides an up to ten-year abatement of ad valorem property taxes on the renovations and improvements of existing commercial structures and owner-occupied residences.
This abatement can serve as an incentive to businesses to make their commercial properties ADA compliant, which would increase employment opportunities for employees with disabilities.
Small and Emerging Business Development Program
The Louisiana Department of Economic Development's Small and Emerging Business Development Program provides the managerial and technical assistance training needed to grow and sustain a small business.
With help from this program, entrepreneurs with disabilities can get the resources they need to start and grow their own businesses.
Small Business Loan and Guaranty Program
The Small Business Loan and Guaranty Program facilitates capital accessibility for small businesses by providing loan guarantees to banks and other small business lenders in association with the federal State Small Business Credit Initiative. The program's purpose is to provide financial assistance, which will help with the development, expansion and retention of Louisiana's small businesses.
Technology Commercialization Credit and Jobs Program
The Technology Commercialization Tax Credit provides a 40% refundable tax credit for companies that invest in the commercialization of Louisiana technology and a 6% payroll rebate for the creation of new, direct jobs.
Some of the new jobs created by this program can go to qualified employees with disabilities who have experience and knowledge in the field of technology.
